Computed Tomography (CT)

Computed Tomography (CT)

Computed Tomography, or CT, combines multiple X-Ray images with computer technology to create detailed cross-sectional images of bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues within the body. These scans offer significantly more detail than a standard X-Ray. In some cases, a contrast agent may be introduced to improve image clarity. The CT scanner has a doughnut shape, with a bed that moves through its centre. You’ll be asked to lie still on the bed as it passes through the scanner to capture the necessary images.
